Swimming Pool Equipment
You searched all over and finally found the perfect backyard swimming pool. It is installed, filled with water, and ready to go, but while you were doing all of this did you remember to buy swimming pool equipment? Having the proper swimming pool equipment is essential to keeping your backyard swimming pool in tip top shape. So before you dive right in and start enjoying your new swimming pool lets talk about some of the swimming pool equipment that you might want to purchase.
Swimming Pool Covers
There are two types of swimming pool covers available. The first kind of swimming pool cover is basically a tarp that covers your swimming pool to protect it from dirt and debris when you are not using your pool. These kinds of pool covers are great if you have a lot of trees in your yard, and will keep your swimming pool water clean especially during storms or windy days. When purchasing one of these pool covers check with the manufacturer to see if it is also considered a swimming pool safety cover. Pool safety covers are great for also keeping children and pets out of your swimming pool while you are not around.
The second kind of swimming pool covers are solar pool covers also some times called solar blankets, pool blankets, or just blankets. This kind of swimming pool cover is not designed to keep your pool clean although it will some, but nothing like a regular swimming pool cover or safety cover will. The solar pool covers are designed to trap the heat from the sun, and can increase the temperature of your backyard swimming pools water as much as 10 to 15 degrees! They will also if installed at night keep that heat trapped underneath it and in the water during the night.
Swimming Pool Cleaners
When you think about cleaning you swimming pool you have to ask yourself how motivated are you? If you are a highly motivated person and do not mind doing a little extra work to keep you pool clean, then I would say save a little money and manually clean your pool. If you go this route you will need a aluminum leaf skimmer for cleaning the bugs, leafs, and debris of the top of the water. Then you will also need a nylon wall brush to remove the algae and grime from the surfaces of you swimming pool, and then finally you will need a good pool vacuum this will let you suck up and clean all the dirt and debris that settles to the bottom of your pool.
Another option that you have if you are lazy like me and have a little bit of extra money to spend is to automate the whole pool cleaning process. Instead of breaking out the aluminum leaf skimmer how about using a remote control! The Jet Net Remote Controlled Pool Skimmer will let you clean top of your swimming pool without even breaking a sweat. Another great thing about the Jet Net Remote Controlled Pool Skimmer is that it is so fun to use that chances are if you have kids they will want to clean the pool for you.
Now that you have the top of your swimming pool clean you now need to clean the walls and the bottom of the pool. There are some great robotic pool cleaners out on the market for this. All you need to do is hook them up and drop them in the water and away the go scrubbing, cleaning, vacuuming, and filtering the water. There are several companies that manufacture robotic pool cleaners, and most of them have several models available so finding one to fit your budget should not be to big of a problem. Some of the top robotic pool cleaners in my opinion are the Pool Rover T Automatic Pool Cleaner, the iRobot 500 PowerScrub by Verro, and the Dolphin Wave.
Other Swimming Pool Equipment
Now that you have a general idea of some of the equipment that you might want to purchase for your backyard swimming pool you might want to consider buying a good supply of chlorine and other swimming pool chemicals that will keep your water clean, and your friends and family healthy while they are swimming in your new pool.
